Spotlight On The Seller....Girleen Giftware

''Would you ever be  good girleen and.......''

Girleen Giftware is a family business run by husband Danny, wife Catherine and their 3 littleones.

The name 'Girleen' is a tribute to their Irish backgrounds and upbringing where 'een' was often added to the end of words. Inparticular, Catherine's Mam would often refer to her as a 'good girleen', hence the name.

Girleen Giftware's products have always reflected the family's interests. In the early days of the business, Catherine worked independently, selling a range of Irish, Celtic and Religious goods including handmade cards with inscriptions in Irish Gaelic. The range has also recently expanded to include signs, again in Irish Gaelic.

Danny, a joiner by trade, then became more involved in the business and the product range again developed. The family's mutual love of Vintage led to ongoing searches for beautiful cups, saucers and plates to be made into cake stands and bird feeders.

A wider selection of cards have been developed and a range of slate products are now available including: shaped boards, coasters and placemats.

Girleen Giftware's particular area of growth has been the production of wood products. Danny's training has been put to great use developing a wide range of  products such as chalkboards, coats hooks, trugs, wooden crates and bookends and wine racks, all of which can be made to customer's requirements.
